Hello, I am Pradnesh Patil. I am a Game Designer.
I am currently working as a Live Ops Content Designer on Pokémon GO.
Previously I worked as a Game Designer on the Minecraft Earth Team at Microsoft in Redmond. I did System Design for a bunch of features on the game. Highlight being, working on the location generation algorithm for the game using open source publicly available data. I also handled Live content management for the game which included scheduling, planning and generating content for bi-weekly releases. I also single handedly managed content design for the sunset of the game.
I love working closely with programmers, artists and UX designers to create a fun and engaging system in the game. I also love handling the backend tooling needs for the game. I have spent a lot of time making automated scripts and macros for Excel that have made mine and other’s lives easier at work. I appreciate the community feedback and love to be involved with them to gather feedback, surface it within the team and then make player-centric decisions.
I graduated with a Master of Entertainment Technology degree from Carnegie Mellon University. I finished my undergraduate in Computer Science from Vidyalankar Institute of Technology in India under Mumbai University. After that I proceeded to take a course in game designing and art. I have been programming since I was in 11th grade. Absolutely love prototyping and writing quick hacky codes to prototype and prove my design. I dabble in Data Analysis from time to time.
Apart from work, I love photography and videography. I play a lot of games and sometimes paint.
The projects on this website have been my academic projects during my time at the ETC and also some personal one
